ACKNOWLEDGE GOD AMERICA !
On June 26, 2002 a panel of the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco found that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional because of the phrase "under God". A national furor resulted. The next day Judge Alfred Goodwin put the ruling on hold while the case is being appealed. The best way to prevent such attacks by the courts on the Heritage of America is to amend the Constitution to add the words "under God" as described below.
As a result of the September 11, 2001 Attack on America, the Nation has acted out an age-old ritual. When in travail call on God. The Nation has turned to God with memorial and church services. Even a memorial service in the U.S.Capitol. "GOD BLESS AMERICA" is heard often and the words seen often on message boards and in other places. The words "GOD BLESS AMERICA" constitute a prayer for the Nation. However the Nation does not acknowledge God in the basic document of government, the Constitution. About five years ago a movement to amend the Constitution to add an acknowledgement of God failed. Now is the time to reopen the question by standing for an amendment such as the following:
"Amendment ZZ, We the People affirm that the United States of America exists as One Nation Under God."
1. Read the Declaration of Independence.
2. Read the Constitution of your state. (Most states have a WEB site) Notice that it includes an acknowledgement of God.
3. Read The Constitution of the United States, The Bill of Rights, Other Amendments to the Constitution. Notice that they DO NOT include an acknowledgement of GOD.
4. Contact your state legislators and urge them to adopt a resolution to the effect that the legislature favors the concept of amending the Constitution to acknowledge GOD.
5. Contact your federal legislators and urge them to initiate action to amend the Constitution of the United States of America to acknowledge God.
